You read it right guys a Floor of Killing, I will be reviewing a game not much older than the hate towards Call of Duty, Killing Floor!
Killing Floor was published by Tripwire Interactive and developed by Shatterline Productions. Killing floor began as a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 which later the retail edition was released in 2009.
Killing Floor is a First Person Shooter (FPS) for PC, game-play has 2 game modes: Killing Floor and Objective Mode.
Killing Floor is a wave based pew pew style of game mode, which I love, you as the player are thrown in with just your trusty pistol and a question “Are they Zombies or Mutants?“
Objective Mode is as what it says on the tin, the player is given a series of challenges to complete to advance further into the map, you are thrown in with your trusty pistol and a question “Did I click on the wrong game mode?“
Once you have found your answer you will take on waves of Zombie Mutants that will get harder every time, duh. But fear not there is a trader where you can buy your weapons from because apparently shooting something gives you money, these include; Flame throwers, crossbows, pipebombs and a potato!
Players can also choose and upgrade certain perks, these perks bring nothing new to the table but have the same style of game-play as most of today’s First Person Shooters, these are; Sharpshooter, Commando, Medic, Engineer and Berserker. I have no specific perk I like so sorry.
The game can be played solo or with friends, if you play by yourself then I won’t judge but I recommend getting some friends you lonely gamer, playing with friends will force you to play as a team but money that you earn from killing the Zombie Mutants will not be any different from playing solo so good luck trying to get kills because we all have the lone wolf friend that will take all the money and not share.
There is a plot… somewhere, it’s never explained unless you look around the map at each pixel. But a breakdown of it is that there were tests on people, the people became hostile and the zombie mutation virus thing spread causing no end of trouble for you, you as the player are dropped into a largely populated area to wipe out the infection.
My rating on this game
8 out of 10 dosh
